We are convinced that an individual is the highest social value. VUKMIR & ASSOCIATES insists on continuing education of our staff. Therefore, we support (financially and otherwise) our employees when they decide to learn and move their education further with a goal of enabling them to achieve self-fulfillment and personal happiness through personal development.

Our partners and employees are regularly present at different local and international seminars and conferences as attendees and speakers. We provide our employees with the opportunities to specialize and acquire specific knowledge in the fields of their interest.

VUKMIR & ASSOCIATES believes in sharing our knowledge with others, in particular younger people, so we always host students and/or young professionals from different countries as interns. Our firm has developed and implemented programs for short and medium term internships at our office, either individually or through different higher education programs and projects, such as the European Union’s ERASMUS scheme, the European Centre for Career Education in Prague or the University of San Francisco, School of Law.

Pro Bono Work

VUKMIR & ASSOCIATES does specific pro bono work not only ex officio within the framework of legal aid but also on its own initiative, thus contributing to the society we live in. In particular, we assist young people and start-ups by giving initial advice for lower fees than usual. We also participate in different seminars and trainings by giving lectures on the development of strategic business plans for start-ups and on the formulation of successful intangible assets strategies.

In addition, as we believe that creative individuals are a token of social development, we assist local artists with our advice which is very often given under favorable terms. Moreover, we strive to support valuable social initiatives. Therefore, for instance, we have supported the Croatian Music Institute (https://www.hgz.hr) with a donation.

We volunteer in various professional organizations and contribute by volunteering in different committees of professional associations, such as ECTA, INTA, and AIPPI.

Environment

We are very concerned about the environment and take an active part in pursuing a sustainable working place. Therefore, we try to use only local producers, we recycle as much as possible, from batteries to paper, and we have joined the program of plastic-free offices “Plastic-Free Croatia”.

Since the very beginning of our practice, we have adhered to a simple pattern of “reduce, reuse and recycle” as a guidance on our environmental presence. We have been paying the carbon-offset fees on various occasions for our official and private travel and have been giving general business advice under favorable terms to a number of environmental projects such as to the GEA@275 project of inventor Prof. Staša Puškarić, who was featured in the Ice on Fire environmental documentary, co-produced by TreeMedia, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way, and the HBO.
